This year, Wine Enthusiast’s tasting panel reviewed more than 16,000 wines. They previously published their list of Top 100 Best Buys and Top 100 Cellar Selections, now – The Enthusiast 100.
To arrive at this list they looked at many factors, including rating, price, drinkability and uniqueness. Then they factored in availability, diversity and subjectivity.
Within the constraints of what was tasted during the past 12 months, they tried to include wines made in different regions from various grape varieties and in different styles. The end result? A list of 100 wines that any wine lover be happy to drink at anytime.
This year wine enthusiast tasted a total of 16,000 wines to come up with The Enthusiast 100 !. The Top 100 consists of the following :
- Dry Red Wines: 68
- Dry White Wines: 27
- Average Rating: 93.4
- Average Price: $39.79
- Top Three Countries: United States (30 wines), France (20 wines), Italy (17wines)
