DeLille Cellars Launches Métier Wine Brand Highlighting Washington State’s Columbia Valley

DeLille Cellars is the third oldest operating winery in Woodinville, WA, founded in 1992. They are known for pioneering Bordeaux-style blends from Washington State. They have maintained a tradition of quality and excellence with over 700 individual with 90+ ratings from leading publications. Primarily DeLille Cellars focuses on the Red Mountain AVA and sources grapes from Washington’s most acclaimed vineyards. The winery is widely recognized as one of top producers in the state. Recently the winery received its fifth Wine & Spirits Top 100 Winery award (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022) and was named Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year by Great Northwest Wine

They have now launched Métier, a new wine label showcasing the approachability and excellence of Washington State’s Columbia Valley AVA. The Métier brand is focused on reaching customers across the country and abroad at a more affordable price point. DeLille is launching the brand with a Cabernet Sauvignon at a retail price of $30 per bottle, with plans to release a Sauvignon Blanc and red blend in 2023.

“We have a 30-year history producing acclaimed wines that showcase our love for Washington fruit and the belief that the Columbia Valley is a world-class wine-growing region. We believe in the quality and unrivaled potential of the Columbia Valley and are excited to show customers how special this place is,” said CEO Tom Dugan. “Our hope is that Métier will be the beginning of someone’s Washington wine journey.”

The term Métier means craft, trade or forte. The label artwork, made via the linocut process, was created by Seattle Artist Becca Fuhrman (Meet the Artist) to exemplify the intersection of art and wine, with a focus on handcrafted work. The eye-catching artwork depicts hands holding a sun and moon, referencing the wide diurnal shift (difference in temperature between day and night) across the Columbia Valley that maintains acidity, develops flavor, and helps make the growing region unique and ideal for wine grapes.

In its inaugural vintage, the 2020 Métier Cabernet Sauvignon received a 91-point Editors’ Choice rating from Wine Enthusiast. DeLille will soon release the 2021 vintage of Métier Cabernet Sauvignon and is crafting a Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Columbia Valley Red Blend for release in 2023. Follow Métier on its recently launched Instagram and visit metierwine.com to learn more. DeLille continues to make more than 20 acclaimed wines, a handful of which are nationally distributed. This new label is something to look out for!
