Rosenblum
Petite Syrah 2005 San Francisco Bay Heritage Clones

Rosenblum wines has had a a great reputaion for many years. It was a great honor to meet Ken Rosenblum
and he was gracious enough to taste us on  several of his wines .
This Petite Syrah-Hetitage clone 2005 is from San Francisco Bay appellation at the foot of Mt Diablo. The Vineyards are planted with two selections of Petite Syrah both from 80 to 100 years old. The wine was aged in 60% American and 40% French oak and once barreled they were not racked again until bottling .
In the glass this wine was medium bodied with a deep dark color. On the nose aromas of ripe blackberries, plum and spice. The palate explodes with flavors of plums, chocolate and spice with a nice finish of mocha and medium tannins. This wine is very well balanced with a great nose, flavor and finish typical of a Rosenblum wine.
The wine makers comments suggest pairing this Petite Syrah with Prime Rib, Leg of Lamb or Pot Roast.
